| Do I need
a website? |
| |
Most industries can benefit greatly from a web
presence. Check out your competition - if they have a strong
online presence, you will probably have a hard time competing
with anything less than they have.
The World Wide Web is where most consumers go for information.
Studies have shown that more people research, shop and get their
news online than ever before. Businesses are getting thousands
of new leads that would not have been possible without a website.
Plus more people are getting online every day. A website is
becoming just as basic and important of a business tool as a
phone number.
Have you ever thought of making your office/store open 24/7?
You don't have to make customers wait until you "open?"
Your existing and new customers can find you and/or your products
from anywhere? If your company doesn't have a web site, you've
probably heard "why not?" from your customers...just
before they access your competitor's homepage.
The key point is to see your web site as an extension of your
existing marketing, for the betterment and improvement of your
craft.
Do you have some serious thinking to do? Are you gonna go online
or out of business?

|
| How much
does a website cost? |
| |
That's a tricky question. The short answer is "$2000
and up." The long answer starts with, "what
do you want the site to do?", we offer a wide range of
website packages at affordable prices. We divided the website
into several components so that you can just pay for what you
need. Please see services page
|

|
| I
have a graphic designer already. Can you help with the rest
of the website? |
| |
Absolutely! Many of our clients have an internal graphic design
department. We understand the need for brand congruency, and
work well with other departments and vendors to accomplish a
shared end vision and goal.
|
| What about
Search Engines? |
| |
Getting listed in Search Engines is important to generate
traffic. There is absolutely no need to submit your site to
them though - if built correctly, they'll find you, so make
sure that other sites are linking to you. Getting to the top
of search results is a very time-consuming and expensive process
with all the competition these days. We recommend starting with
a pay-per-click campaign first to get immediate
traffic.
|
| How do I
get traffic to my site? |
| |
There are many ways to generate traffic to your site. The
most important realization to make is to understand that this
is an ongoing process. There is no magic pill, and anyone who
offers you one is only peddling disappointment. Start with the
basics of keyword research, write articles, submit press releases,
and set up some pay-per-click campaigns.
|
| How
do I get my site to sell? |
| |
Conversion is a problem for many websites. Make sure your
site looks professional, but stays simple. Navigation should
be super simple and intuitive, and there should always be a
call-to-action. Your text copy is the most important here -
speak in grade 5 language and like you're talking to one person.
You need to interrupt the commodity-focused mentality
of your site visitor and build a relationship to make a sale.
Once you think your site is converting visitors to customers,
set up a split testing technique wherein you compete against
yourself to always improve.
 |
| Is
my website effective? |
| |
Only you can answer that question. What do you want your website
to do for your business? What is its purpose? Is it making you
more money than it's costing you? Are you proud to send visitors
to your website? What ever you do, don't just trust your buddies
to tell you that your website looks great. Of course, they'll
tell you that!
|
| What
if we need updates (maintenance) to the site? |
| |
We provide reliable website maintenance:
We can take over or aid in the maintenance of your site easily
and quickly -- many clients simply email their updates or revisions
to us and in many cases we have their site updated the same
day. Or, another option is for us to develop a password-protected,
user-friendly browser interface so you can make your own site
updates without having to know a stitch of code! A third option
is to provide you with FTP access to your server and let you
have a free hand with your site. The choice is yours.
|
| How
long will it take for UGi to develop my website? |
| |
Once we have your materials, it takes only a couple of weeks
or less to get your site up, depending of course on the amount
of material you would like place online (the size of your site).
Our clients have been pleasantly surprised with our turn-around
time.

as a logo, new content, search functionality, banner ads, etc.
We are happy to oblige, just let us know what your company needs.
We have variety of website component.
|

| |

needs or your current website. We will contact you as soon as

|
| What
is a web page? What is a website? |
| |
Think of a web page as a page in a book when
there's a bunch of web pages put together, it's called a web
site (or a whole book). All of the web sites on the Internet
make up the world wide web (or a library of books).
Web pages are much more colourful, entertaining and simply
more fun than any book you've ever read!
|
| What
is a static website? |
| |
This is an electronic brochure that gives greater
awareness about your company and its products and services.
A synonym for "ordinary " or an "information
only" web site displaying contact information, telephone
number, email addresses and directions on how to get to your
business.
|
| What
is a database-driven website? |
| |
First, we define a database as storage of information
usually in large quantities and of a complex nature. Database-driven
websites are becoming increasingly a "must-have"
technology for any site nowadays.

|
| What
are the applications and advantages of a database-driven website?
|
| |
This consists of "back-end" database
web pages and made possible by using programming language(s)
capable of gathering and manipulating or retrieving information.
It has many applications, such as the widely known e-commerce,
searchable membership directories, guest books and the so-called
Web Content Manager (WCM).
|
| What is
a Web Content Manager (WCM)? |
| |
WCM is a powerful tool that enables the site
to be updated or revised, dynamically generated or customized
to make a web site interactive. It doesn’t require technical
skills; it can be easily to manage as long as you know how to
read.
|
| What
is E-commerce? |
| |
E-commerce is the most common application of
a database-driven web site. Usually online orders and billing
information are included in the database. Shoppers interact
with this database to create orders for the merchandise that
they purchase online. Of course, a secure server is needed so
that the user feels safe with using their credit cards online.
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) uses public-key strongest encryption
& increases the encryption strength to protect all data
exchanged between your website and the client. This is most
commonly used to protect sensitive information from visitors.
Also, a processor company and a merchant account are needed.
|
| What is
a Merchant Account? |
| |
A merchant account is a relationship and a trust
you have with a bank that has agreed to allow you to charge
people's credit card, while they honor it and deposit the funds
into your account. The bank is responsible for debiting the
funds from the customer and depositing it into your account.
There is usually a processor that is involved that processes
the credit cards for the bank and lets them known that the funds
are available. When you are given a merchant account from a
bank, they are relying on you to uphold your promise to your
customers to delivering your products and/or services to them
in a timely manner.
